It’s just like, how callous can fashion be? Using the words “ghetto” and “ratchet” on expensive clothing leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Hood by Air F14
I guess everyone shit their pants over this collection cause its like being a club kid and trans and in nyc and like that’s a unique perspective etc. I could go on and on praising how this collection fucks with standards of beauty and there’s hair extensions on vogueing men and deconstructed reconstructed clothes that comment on how we have to tear ourselves down and rebuild to find our true meaning in a messy world…. but……. ultimately this guy is not getting attention for his innovative perspective. He’s getting attention cause this shit looked cray and sporty is in right now. The review on style.com focused almost solely on how much money he’s going to make off of all this stuff: “…among the many interesting things about today’s Hood by Air show was that sound of ka-ching you could just make out amid the bombastic soundtrack.” I guess this collection is cool because it’s artistic and makes thoughtful commentary on society, but when $300 hoodies are selling out, the motivations for this “art” become murky.
